RACKSTORMobile Shelving UK

Compactus & High-Density

Compactus & high-density storage.

The premium end of mobile storage — Compactus, powered electric shelving and high-density systems for the UK's most demanding archives, NHS sites, museums and commercial estates.

What's included

  • Bruynzeel Compactus and equivalent premium systems
  • Powered, mechanical-assist and manual options
  • Aisle safety: photocells, floor sweep, anti-trap, e-stops
  • Fire-rated, climate-controlled and museum-grade options
  • BS EN 15095, PUWER 1998 and Equality Act compliant
  • Service contracts on existing Compactus installations

Why high-density storage

When floorspace is at a premium and loadings are heavy, high-density mobile systems are the only economic answer. They deliver 80–100% more storage in the same footprint compared to static shelving, with full safety, accessibility and longevity built in.

We service existing Compactus too

Many UK organisations are running Compactus systems installed 15–30 years ago. We refurbish, repair, relocate and PUWER-certify them — extending their working life by decades.

Common questions

+What is Compactus?

Compactus is the original Bruynzeel brand name for mobile high-density shelving, now used generically for any premium mobile storage system. We supply and service Compactus and equivalent systems UK-wide.

+Manual, mechanical-assist or powered Compactus?

Manual suits light loads (under 200 kg/m). Mechanical-assist handle-wound is ideal for archives and medium loads. Powered electric is best for very heavy loads, high-frequency access and DDA / Equality Act compliance.

+Do you service existing Compactus systems?

Yes — we maintain, repair, relocate and re-commission Bruynzeel Compactus and all equivalent systems across the UK, including legacy installations from the 1990s onwards.

+Is powered Compactus safe?

Yes — modern powered systems include aisle photocells, floor-sweep sensors, anti-trap edges and emergency stops, fully compliant with BS EN 15095 and PUWER 1998.
