Compactus
Compactus Shelving — High-Density Mobile Storage Systems
Compactus shelving is the original branded name for mobile shelving — a high-density storage system in which shelving units are mounted on wheeled carriages running along floor tracks. The Compactus name has become a generic term in the UK, used to describe any mobile shelving system. Rackstor UK Ltd supplies, installs and maintains Compactus shelving systems and all other major brands of mobile shelving across the UK.
What Is Compactus Shelving?
Compactus is a trade name that has become synonymous with mobile shelving in the UK — much like Hoover for vacuum cleaners. A Compactus unit consists of shelving bays mounted on wheeled carriages running along precision floor tracks. The bays compact together when not in use, with a single moveable aisle opening wherever access is needed. The result is storage density two to three times that of conventional static shelving in the same floor area.
